SCHOOL EDUCATION
As a son of a UCO Bank manager, my education is spread over many towns and cities, having both positive and negative effects. Plus point being that I happen to meet different kind of peoples, and in process of starting relationship, I have observed various personality traits and learned quite valueable skills. Minus point is that I have not been successful in developing deep-rooted friendship with my classmates or neighbours.
I started as usual age of five, but unusually in the first standard directly, reason being that we had only one school in my town in Madhya Pradesh and Nursery/LKG/UKG system wasn't popular yet.
Class sixth and seventh were studied at Gwalior.From eighth to tenth I studied at Kota, Rajasthan. I scored 87.64% aggregate in board examination under Rajsthan Board.
Till now my medium of instruction was my mother tounge Hindi. I changed this to English for my further studies in eleventh and twelfth standards. I scored 89.60% aggregate and 95.00% in Science-Mathematics - my discipline of study - in board examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education, India.
COLLEGE EDUCATION
When I took Science-Mathematics as my career option, I started contemplating for entry into prestigious IITs. Though I did not expected - and hence did not even took a formal professional coaching for this tough examination of only 2% acceptance rate - and only joined a correspondence course by Apex Academy, Mumbai, just to get the 'feel' of it, I secured average rank of 1795 out of about 3200. Taking no risk, since toppers aren't even guaranteed of succeeding next time, I joined the Institute of IIT Madras located in Chennai in the state of TamilNadu. My rank helped me secure admission in Civil Engineering discipline.
After four years of study at IITM I decided to pursue my Masters in the field of Transportation Engineering. This decision was, of course, not an easy one since I dabbled with options of joing a job or trying for an MBA (which I unfortunately failed !). These years were, however, great moments of my life for they made me a responsible and confident man and gave me a glimpse of real life.
I applied to four universities in USA for my graduation / post-graduation including MIT, Stanford, Berkeley and Illinois at Urbana-Champagne. Luckily I was admitted to MIT, Boston, USA for two years Masters program with full finacial support. for my M.S. in Transportation Engineering. I am currently working as Research Assistance in Intelligent Transportation Systems Program at MIT.
